Parvati Devi (honorary citizen of Patria since 2010) has come out with a new version of her chart-topping electronica signature song Yoga in the Nightclub. Official release is coming in June, just in time for the inauguration of Patria's 50th Congress, but you can listen to the pre-release here:
Parvati says, "Yoga is a beautiful, powerful and subtle 5000 year old life-science. Though popular yoga practices today often focus on flexibility, strength and tight bodies, the essence of yoga goes far beyond this. The literal meaning of Yoga is union. In my musical works, I am creatively and spiritually inspired by the yogic truth that we are one. My hope is that ‘Yoga In The Nightclub’ may inspire people to find peace, balance and unity anywhere, at any time - whether in a meditation hall, at work, or in a nightclub. Breathe. Be. We are one Earth family".

Parvati's funding campaign goes over the top
Honorary citizen of Patria Parvati Devi's crowdsourcing campaign to raise USD 6164 in order to shoot videos for her two songs "Shanti Om" and "Yoga in the Nightclub" has gone over the top! Thanks to donors in Canada, USA, UK, and around the world - including Patria - Parvati (like her on Facebook) has raised over $7800. This extra kick means that the videos will be even more amazing, with even more groovy costumes and professional production. As Parvati recently said in her blog:
By focusing unequivocally on my joy, I align myself with universal, divine will. As I say “YES!” with each breath to my deepest soul joy, my life becomes a living prayer. It is not up to me to then say, “I will make it happen.” That is the universe’s role. My job is simply to continually say yes, one moment after the next, and keep getting out of the way.

Help Parvati Make Two Stellar Music Videos
Parvati Devi is a chart-topping, internationally touring Canadian musician, yogi and new-thought leader (and an honorary citizen of Patria) who is often compared to “Madonna meets Eckhart Tolle”. Her music is now #2 in the local electronic charts, #30 in Canada and charting within the top hundreds of electronic dance music artists globally - all without ever signing a major record deal.
To release a song to radio or on-line today, you need a music video. This campaign is raising funds to create two world-class music videos, one for each of Parvati’s songs that we know can be hits: “Shanti Om” and “Yoga In the Nightclub”. The music industry has confirmed that they can be hits. These songs deserve star treatment so that they can fully succeed in the visually driven YouTube era. The intention in making these videos is to spread love and hope, create positive waves and offer upliftment globally. We are committed to bringing these songs forward because they deserve to be enjoyed by millions. We will do what it takes to get them there.
Our goal is to raise $6164 so that we can shoot outdoors next month in south Florida, where it is much warmer than in Canada (or in Patria for that matter). If you are interested, you can donate here - or just listen to clips of Parvati's two songs.

Transcendent Luminosity: Parvati's UK tour
Honorary citizen of Patria Parvati Devi is launching a tour of the United Kingdom, which she has dubbed "Transcendent Luminosity". Why this name? As Parvati explains:
My upcoming tour through England mid October to end of November, 2013, is called “Transcendent Luminosity” because at the heart of all my work, I know this to be our true nature. The tour is designed to inspire and support each one of us being the best we can be.Parvati will also be teaching a workshop based on her new self-help book Confessions of a Former Yoga Junkie, inspired by her near-death experience in India in the 1990s.
To state the obvious, this tour is scheduled around Amma's visit to London, Oct. 21-23 during her European tour.

Parvati launches new Yoga in the Nightclub
Honorary citizen of Patria Parvati Devi (not "Pavarti" as Cashbox Canada's copy editor seems to think) is launching a new album entitled YIN: Yoga in the Nightclub.
The album contains re-worked versions of songs that appeared on Parvati's original Yoga in the Nightclub CD released in 2008, as well as some new compositions. Listen to samples of the new tracks.
Parvati says of her new album:
The album contains re-worked versions of songs that appeared on Parvati's original Yoga in the Nightclub CD released in 2008, as well as some new compositions. Listen to samples of the new tracks.
Parvati says of her new album:
In this album and show, I weave together my love of yogic consciousness with my love for electronic dance-pop music. “YIN: Yoga In the Nightclub” is about yoga being everywhere. The art of Yoga reaches far beyond the impression most Westerners have as being a series of bendy physical exercises. Yoga is a systematic body of knowledge and a practice that teaches us integrated living, while being rooted in the fullness of who we are, living our highest good, following our deepest joy.
“YIN: Yoga In the Nightclub” reminds us that our potential to awaken to the divine is available to us in every moment, no matter where we may be. It celebrates our Earth, the sacred feminine, the Divine Mother and explores an ancient message in a modern world. It taps into our deeper, multidimensional knowing, which touches and stirs the quiet soul-wisdom that is already present in each of us, that is simply waiting to be switched on.
“YIN: Yoga In the Nightclub” is a nod of gratitude to the yoga community for the support I have received over the years, and of recognition of my deep spiritual roots there. Taking my independent hit single "Yoga In the Nightclub" as a point of departure, the album brings together traditional Sanskrit chants, original pop songs, anthemic dance tracks and expansive, spacious soundscapes that allow listeners to rest in the lap of the Divine.
I feel like I am in a creative cave in my music studio as I create sounds to produce songs and soundscapes. For me, it is a fully engrossing and surrendered process, witnessing a force unfold and move through that is so much greater than the ego. In this way, the creative process feels mystical at it’s core. Our whole universe is sound. One of my favourite books, “The World Is Sound: Nada Brahma: Music and the Landscape of Consciousness by Joachim-Ernst Berendt, explores this idea deeply. If you have not read it, it is truly sonically and creatively inspiring.
We can open our ears and being to the worlds of sound both within and without. We think of sound as frequencies we hear with our physical ears. But there are also unstruck sounds, frequencies that are subtle yet still can be sensed. For example, we hear the thoughts that pass through our head, that inner chatter, even though no object is vibrating to create that sound frequency.
The voice of the Divine is like this to me, everywhere, in all things, pulsing, flowing, alive. When we learn to listen, life is resonant with an orchestral vibrancy that is nothing short of awe inspiring. This lush orchestration arises from and moves us to stillness. Sound can inspire an inner quiet that feels vast, expansive and infinite. When we open our ears, our heart, our body and our mind and truly listen, we can hear the wondrous pulsating sounds of Life itself.Following the official release of this album on Friday, May 11, Parvati begins a ten-week tour of the United States, beginning in Seattle. A percentage of all proceeds on the tour will go to the environmental efforts of Amma's charitable organization Embracing The World.
