Sweden: “We’re going for herd immunity”. Patria: “Hold my beer” as Congress opens new session

As the Fifty-First Congress returned from summer recess to open the Third Session (3·LI 2020-21) Patria is doubling down on its Covid-19 dissident voices. All across Patria, on radio and television spots, on billboards and handbills, and on the lips of almost every Patrienish citizen who is not buying the US-media-induced fear, the phrase “kevál estí grippí” – it’s only the flu – is resonating. At home altars and puja rooms, as well as at temples across Patria, the protection and blessings of Mother Sheetala are invoked.

 Near the top of the Third Session’s order paper is Patria’s commitment to herd immunity (not “herd mentality” as Donald Trump referenced it), particularly as students from KG to PhD begin the new academic year. As the Speaker of the House said today: “Patria’s healthy children, teenagers and young adults are on the front line of herd immunity. They are the vanguard shock troops who will build a line of defense in order to protect the elderly, those with compromised immune systems and those with underlying medical conditions against the actual threat of Covid-19, while themselves suffering no more than a mild flu or bad cold should they actually contract it”. Congress also re-affirmed that there will never be a Patria-wide lockdown, and any attempt to impose one on the precinct or local level will be actively resisted no matter how many positive tests or “cases” of Covid-19 (not hospital admissions or even “serious cases”) are discovered locally. The Social Democrats house leader added: “When Sweden says ‘we’re going for herd immunity and no lockdown’, Patria says ‘hold my beer’”.

 If you visit Patria, not only will you see virtually everything open for business as usual and virtually everyone freely associating (and hugging to boot), you will only rarely find anyone wearing a mask. Unless, as recommended by Patria’s Ministry of Dharma and Health, they are in self-quarantine, working in a health care facility, or are actually infected.

Rather than buying the fear-mongers and vaccine-pushers such as Dr. Anthony Fauci, Patria is heeding the advice of Prof. Udi Qimron, soon-to-be-head of the Department of Clinical Microbiology and Immunology at Tel Aviv University:

"The total number of coronavirus deaths does not exceed 0.1% of the total population in any country, and the death rate from coronavirus is less than 0.01% of the total world population, meaning that 99.99% of the world's population so far has survived the epidemic and the virus is negligibly lethal.

Smart behavior would be the opposite of what we do today. Populations not at risk should become infected and create chains of immunity, which will protect the sick and the elderly. We are currently working for sweeping social distancing, which prevents such differential immunity.

 There is a very great interest for anyone who has supported the draconian measures taken around the world to say that Sweden's policy has failed. Because if it succeeded, and trillions went down the drain for no reason, someone will have to answer for it.

That is why all over the world they prefer to claim that Sweden was wrong. But in the end, the truth came to the surface.

If we had not been told that there was an epidemic in the country, you would not have known there was such an epidemic and you would not have done anything about it. The fact that this issue runs all day in the media inflates it beyond its natural dimensions. If black death had raged here, as in the 14th century, you would not have had to follow the situation in the news, the bodies would have piled up in the streets. We were not and we are not in this situation today.

 In a world where decision makers, their advisers and the media were able to admit their mistake and the initial panic that gripped them, we would have long since returned to routine. The ongoing destruction due to the inability to admit this mistake, despite the epidemic’s small mortality numbers, is outrageous. History will judge the hysteria."

Indeed, history will judge the macro-world’s hysteria over what amounts to little more than another strain of the seasonal flu. History will judge the long-term damage (trillions of dollars, quadrillions of rupees) to the macro-world’s economy as well as to the mental and emotional health of those forced to wear masks for what could be a year or more, isolate from those who as recently as March 2020 used to bring them nurturing hugs, and for the sake of social distancing give up the human contact from religious services to sports events that used to provide sustenance and a meaningful quality of life. Patria will not follow the absurdities of much of the macro-world’s path of over-reaction and government over-reach. As Voltaire said, “Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities”.

Congress adjourns at mid-term, invokes Sheetala's blessings to cure COVID

As the Fifty First Congress adjourned for the summer recess at the midpoint of its term, the Arati to Sheetala (click on above) was sung in temples throughout Patria as the Inner Realm continues to seek her blessings in order to find a cure for COVID19.

Patria is doubling down on herd immunity and COVID dissident voices as the Annual Message to Congress was delivered and the Sergeant-at-Arms brought down the gavel to declare closed the Second Session of the 51st Congress (2·LI 2019-20) and call lawmakers to return to the Capitol on September 21, 2020 for the Third Session (3·LI 2020-21).

Following is the transcription of the Annual Message:

Om Durga Uma Lalitha Bhavanye Namah. With the Divine Mother’s blessings and at the lotus feet of Amma Sri Karunamayi and Amma Amritanandamayi, the Fifty-first Congress has come to the midpoint of its term. The Second Session actually passed quite a bit of legislation and held some key debates from September 2019 until the first week of March 2020. And then the lamps went out all over the world, as the corona virus gripped both the macro- and micro-world in fear of another 1918 flu pandemic. Yet over the course of the Second Session, while the corona virus has proliferated throughout the macro-world, there have been only a few mala’s worth of serious cases of COVID-19 in Patria that required hospitalization and fewer than 108 mahasamadhis that were directly attributable to the virus. For the vast majority of Patrienish citizens who contracted it, COVID-19 turned out to be little more than a mild flu, if they had any symptoms at all.

For several weeks in March and April, as a lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19 was imposed, Patria’s economy ground to a near halt. But the lockdown was called off not only because COVID-19 failed to become the deadly killer that the fear-mongers had predicted but because the social, economic and mental health costs of indefinite layoffs, furloughs and forcing almost everyone to stay at home as if under house arrest were far worse than the disease itself. Here on the floor of Congress, it was argued by the Social Democrats and SRM opposition alike that the goals of keeping the economy out of recession and allowing citizens to resume their everyday activities far outweighed the need to cower at home out of fear in order to feel safe from a disease that was having almost no effect on much of Patria. As Congress and the 13 Precincts declared an immediate end to the lockdown, the following points were made in favor of re-opening the economy:

• How many children should starve in order to make you feel safe?
• How many families must go bankrupt in order to make you feel safe?
• How many business owners should lose everything they've worked for in order to make you feel safe?
• How many people are you comfortable with committing suicide from hopelessness and financial ruin in order to make you feel safe?
• How many women and children should be victims of domestic violence in order to make you feel safe?
• When so many are trapped indoors, deprived of their usual exercise at their local gym, YMCA or other fitness facility, how many cases of heart disease, obesity and type 2 diabetes are you willing to tolerate in order to make you feel safe?
• How many cases of alcoholism, drug abuse, depression, anxiety and PTSD do you find acceptable in order that you feel safe?
• How many people have to lose their jobs, their life savings, and most important precious time with their family and loved ones they will never get back in order to make you feel safe?

Also, remember this – if the macro-world TV news had never told you to be afraid of this virus, you wouldn't have. You likely would have gone about your life as usual along with everyone else. You likely would have thought that this was just another type of flu. So remember, citizens of Patria and the macro-world alike, that all your fears and panic exist because you were told by the mainstream media to live in fear and panic, because you can’t spell pandemic without panic. Patria will not live in fear and panic. Patria will say “kevál estí grippí” – it’s only the flu. Patria will let the virus run its course among healthy citizens who are at low risk of serious or potentially fatal complications, while protecting those who are at high risk, particularly seniors in nursing homes and anyone with pre-existing health issues or weakened immune systems. Patria will advocate reasonable common-sense precautions such as frequent hand washing, while aiming towards the goal of herd immunity in defiance of the “experts” and “our betters”.

A little over a month ago, Patria had only four words to say to the COVID-19 Thought Police and fear-mongers: I DO NOT CONSENT. To that message, one more can be added: I do not consent to wearing a mask in public places. Unless you are actually sick, caring for someone who is sick, or work in a hospital, masks are of dubious value. Not wearing masks can be Patria’s simple act of civil disobedience, Patria’s answer to the so-called experts and authority figures. If the fear-mongers are correct and a second wave of COVID-19 really does happen later this year or early 2021, and should any precinct legislatures or city mayors attempt to impose another lockdown for the sake of the tiny one percent or less of the population actually at risk, Patria’s second wave will be a wave of satyagraha – non-violent civil disobedience inspired by Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr., but for the most part leaderless resistance. Know this. There will be non-violent pushback to any kind of authoritarian government overreach. SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS.

If a second Great Depression is foisted upon us because of the corona virus, Patria is prepared to weather the storm. Amid the declines in the stock market, both Wall Street and the Castoropolis Stock Exchange, the Patrienish Rupee is still the most stable micronational currency. When the lockdown was abandoned in mid-April, trillions of rupees were saved that would have been paid out in unemployment benefits and business bailouts, and instead will flow back into the economy from the pockets of consumers. This has not gone unnoticed in the last act of the Second Session that took place earlier today, the ratification of Patria’s fiscal 2021 budget, albeit paused for three hours so that members of this House could listen to Jungle Party leader Jim Rome’s Smack-Off XXVI on PMBC-1152. Congratulations to the Smack-Off winner, Leff in Laguna.

Patria is not a safe place for status quo dishwater-dull moderates. Patria is not a place for incremental change or “nothing will fundamentally change” centrists. In the remaining two years of this Congress’ mandate, Patria must remain a safe place for dissident voices, for liberals who have been red-pilled to some extent by COVID-19, for populists who despise the elites, for politically incorrect iconoclasts and for those who thumb their noses at the leftist Thought Police while at the same time advocating a made-in-Patria progressive democratic socialism in which the violent thugs of Antifa and the discredited rabble who destroy statues of great leaders and monuments to our proud heritage are not welcome.

Far be it from Patria to endorse any candidate in a macro-national election, particularly for the US presidency. Nonetheless, Patria still “feels the Bern” and believes that honorary Patrienish citizen Bernie Sanders would have won in 2016 and should be campaigning for re-election today rather than being on the losing end of a battle with the Democratic National Committee, Wall Street plutocrats and the establishment powers that be. Joe Biden is the Hillary Clinton of 2020 and it will probably not end well for Sleepy Joe. Biden’s cognitive abilities have declined to the point where he is unfit for the job. His rambling, incoherent sound bites are not “gaffes” but clear displays of senility showing that he belongs in a retirement home, not the White House. American citizens living in the Inner Realm should not endorse the zero-sum binary game of US politics in which Republicans and Democrats are locked in a virtual duopoly, but should instead mail in their absentee ballots for a Third Party candidate such as the Green Party or a write-in vote for Bernie Sanders.

As Congress adjourns for the summer, let us pray: Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu and let us offer pranams to Mother Sheetala, who cures all infectious diseases. Jai Sheetala Mata!

"It's only the flu" - Patria doubles down on COVID-19 dissent

As Patria Post rolls out a new stamp dedicated to Sheetala, the donkey-riding goddess who cures infectious diseases from smallpox to COVID-19, the All-Patria Football Federation will resume its season, with fans in the stands to boot. Patria has launched a campaign against the fear of a generally mild and even asymptomatic disease that is of no more threat than the seasonal flu for those who have a healthy immune system. Posters and broadcast ads across Patria proclaim "it's only the flu" - in Patrienish kevál estí grippí. Physical/social distancing is now only voluntary ("At ease. Hug if you wish.", to paraphrase the roll call sergeant) and virtually all businesses from yoga studios to barber shops have re-opened. Face masks are sometimes seen being worn on transit vehicles and indoor spaces, but the general message in Patria is that unless you are actually sick, caring for someone who is sick, or work in a hospital, there is no need to wear a mask.

Without formally announcing it, Patria is going for herd immunity and is clearly on the side of COVID-19 dissidents, who have been fighting almost from the get-go the authoritarian government over-reach, technological surveillance run amok and stamping out of civil liberties for the sake of the one percent (or less) of the population who are actually at risk of potentially fatal complications from COVID-19. Echoing the "I do not consent" speech delivered by the SRM last month, the National Union said on the floor of Congress that choosing not to buy into the fear-mongering is Patria's "sovereign right to choose". Following is the speech by the NU House Leader:

Madam Speaker, citizens of Patria do not and need not live in fear of COVID-19. As the national campaign says, “It’s only the flu” and we have a sovereign right to choose how we are to respond to the macro-national fear-mongers, the so-called experts and the other powers that be.

If you want to stay home, stay home. That's your sovereign right to choose.

If you want to wear a mask, wear a mask. That's your sovereign right to choose.

If you want to avoid large crowds, avoid large crowds. That's your sovereign right to choose.

I am not required to descend into poverty for YOU.

I am not required to abstain from human contact for YOU.

I refuse to participate in "quarantine life" until there's an unsafe, untested vaccine released in eighteen months, by which time we may be close to achieving herd immunity, making a vaccine virtually unnecessary.

I refuse to receive a vaccine to make others feel safer. That's my sovereign right to choose!

If you're convinced the vaccine is safe and effective, you can get it yourself.

Some of you are allowing fear and policies devoid of scientifically accurate data to destroy the country you live in and ruin your life.

Life is full of risks, whether the risk of being hit by a car while walking or the risk of exposure to bacteria and viruses, many of which spread before symptoms manifest and after they subside.

We have a sovereign right to receive OR refuse vaccines.

We have a sovereign right to trust our immune system to do its job and to strengthen it by actual exposure to germs and viruses.

The data was inaccurate at best; purposely overblown to justify government overreaction at worst.

Stop allowing the government to destroy the food supply, small businesses, medical autonomy, access to healthcare, mass gatherings, privacy rights, our mental health and our constitutionally guaranteed freedom.

When the "new normal" is filled with starvation, depression, suicide, child abuse, domestic violence, imprisonment, governmental spying, and pure DESPERATION, the "virus" is going to look preferable to the world you helped facilitate.

I'm going to turn this around on people from now on. Those that say I'm (or anyone that supports this) putting money over lives by wanting the country back open for business...

Hear this:

-YOU don't care about the people that will kill themselves out of hopelessness.

-YOU don't care about small businesses that will close their doors permanently.

-YOU don't care about the women and children that will be victims of domestic abuse.

-YOU don't care about people defaulting on their mortgages.

-YOU don't care about bills going unpaid by families with ZERO income right now.

-YOU don't care about people wondering where their next meal will come from.

-YOU don't care about the people that will lose their sobriety and slip back into alcoholism and drug abuse.

-YOU don't care about the people that will starve.

-YOU support the looting and rioting that has taken place, some of it motivated more by frustration stemming from the lockdown and mass unemployment than by police brutality or Black Lives Matter.

-YOU don't care about anyone that's murdered the longer this shut down goes on.

-YOU don't care about people's mental health.

-YOU don't care about the children that DO need teachers and educators to guide and educate them. Teach them online, you say. You particularly don’t care about the children from low-income families who can’t afford internet access or a home computer.

-YOU don't care about the economy crashing down around us.

-YOU DON'T CARE.

-YOU love your shackles.

-YOU are pathetic, begging your leaders for MORE shut down and MORE regulations and MORE handouts.

I will NOT tolerate another person telling me that I don't care about lives.

I care about the situation in its entirety.

Patria does not consent. Dissident voices and Sheetala puja

Sheetala Mata ki jai!

While Patria has rejected the COVID19 economic lockdown and is aiming for herd immunity, temples across Patria are performing pujas to Sheetala - an incarnation of the Divine Mother Durga who cures smallpox and other infectious diseases - including, of course, COVID19. Sheetala (sometimes spelled Shitala, but remember the i is long; in Sanskrit: शीतला śītalā) rides on a donkey (coincidentally the symbol of the US Democratic party), and carries a silver broom, a fan, a small bowl, and a pot of water. She uses these items to rid a house of disease–she sweeps up the germs with her broom, uses the fan to collect them, and dumps them into the bowl. She then sprinkles water from the pot (which is water from the river Ganges) to purify the house. Sheetala’s name means “the cooling one”. With the change of seasons and coming of the hot period, amid the COVID19 pandemic, it is essential to emphasize the importance of hygiene for human health and the worship of Sheetala Mata provides the motivation to keep the surroundings clean and hygienic.

On the floor of Congress, the House Leader of the SRM, Patria's official opposition party, delivered an impassioned speech that places Patria firmly into the camp of COVID19 dissident voices who will not tow the mainstream media party line. The transcription follows:

Madam Speaker, in the world of COVID19, Patria stands as a dissident voice. Patria rejects the lockdown, Patria rejects the fear, and most important of all, citizens of Patria do not consent. Know well those four words: I DO NOT CONSENT (In Patrienish, three words: imí nolí consentí)

I do not consent to the tracking and tracing of citizens of Patria (or any macro-world citizens for that matter). And if we can track law-abiding citizens, then why haven't we made rapists, murderers, pedophiles and other dangerous criminals a priority?

I do not consent to a party or leader who makes decisions without the democratic process of a vote in Congress.

I do not consent to being told that I am not taking a virus seriously simply because I question and challenge arbitrary laws.

I do not consent to limiting free speech under the guise of protecting Patria from the spread of misinformation. No government has a monopoly on information. China does, though. As did the Third Reich and Soviet Union.

I do not consent to the extreme censorship that is taking place on social media platforms towards doctors, scientists, political scientists, activists and dissident voices who uphold data about a possible differing outcome than the mainstream media would have us believe. This is the 21^st century version of book burning.

I do not consent to an increased risk of heart disease, obesity or type 2 diabetes from lack of physical activity because YMCAs, gyms and other fitness facilities are closed indefinitely.

I do not consent to banning entry into temples, churches, synagogues, mosques and other places of worship. Freedom of religion is a fundamental human right, enshrined in the Constitution of Patria and in the basic laws or constitutions of virtually every First World democracy.

I do not consent to closing down nature trails, nature parks, and other outdoor spaces when liquor stores, cannabis stores and RupeeRama stores [a chain of stores in Patria, like Dollarama and other dollar stores in Canada] remain open, along with other businesses deemed “essential”. There is absolutely nothing more essential on this Earth than Earth itself.

I do not consent to the closing of small businesses while multi-million dollar companies remain open. Michigan, as an example, stated that for every one COVID19 death, 2,750 people will lose their livelihood. This will (and has) undoubtedly contributed to rising rates of suicide, depression, drug and alcohol dependency, domestic violence and abuse.

I do not consent to being prevented from freely travelling within Patria while the politicians who impose these laws break them and visit their cottages, country estates and summer homes.

I do not consent to my tax dollars being used for bailouts of major corporations while small business owners – many of which are heart-centered businesses or have been family-owned for generations – fall into poverty.

I do not consent to being told all these decisions are for my safety while thousands of dangerous criminals have been released from prisons, allegedly for their own “protection”.

I do not consent to violating Patria's human rights legislation and court precedents dating back to 1818 which state that my body is sovereign and no medical procedure can be mandated. Or even violating the US Constitution, which did not tack “except in case of a virus” to the first ten amendments. As those who fought for abortion rights in the 1970s would say, “my body, my choice”.

I do not consent to mandatory vaccination. How do you think this will end? Not well.

I do not consent to the label "anti-vaxxer" simply because I have concerns about mandatory vaccines or medical procedures - especially high risk vaccines with limited testing that are deemed highly profitable to the most questionable of interests.

I do not consent to being labelled a conspiracy theorist simply because I question certain government, corporate and industrial motives.

I do not consent to the idea that pharmaceutical companies are the only way we can prevent or heal from illness.

I do not consent to the complete failure to discuss what promotes real health and immunity: vegetables, grass-fed meat (for those who are not vegetarian or vegan), organic, non-GMO produce, low glycemic food (since metabolic dysfunction puts you at a significantly greater risk), botanicals, sleep, exercise, sunshine (or at least a vitamin D supplement), fresh air and human connection such as giving and receiving hugs.

I do not consent to the news media only talking about the death count when the survival rate is much higher. Fear cripples the immune system. Why aren't they talking about both?

I do not consent to the censorship of health practitioners simply for talking about increasing immunity through nutrients, herbs and botanicals which have been used for thousands of years.

I do not consent to mad scientists (that includes you, Mr. Gates) and corporations who ignore the divine intelligence of our body, our immune system and our Earth.

I do not consent to the lack of discussion on how the exploitation and rape of the Earth, our divine feminine, has increased illness globally – everything from heart disease to depression, autoimmunity, cancer and autism, for decades.

I do not consent, Patria.

I consent to being called a critical thinker, a person who cares about tomorrow, an environmentalist who understands the connection between the state of our planet's health and our own.

COVID19 lockdown called off, Smack-Off set for June 19

There have been very few cases of COVID19 in Patria. The official confirmed number "can be counted on a mala", i.e. less than 108. Virtually all of these cases are in people over 70 years old and/or with underlying pre-existing health issues such as emphysema. If anyone who tested positive for COVID19 is unfortunate enough to die, the cause is almost certainly the underlying health issue rather than the virus per se. Therefore, by act of Congress and with the ratification of each of Patria's thirteen Precinct legislatures, the lockdown that had been in effect since mid-March has been called off effective immediately.

Yoga studios, temples and other places of worship, restaurants, gyms, schools and playgrounds in Patria are re-opening. The lost and so-called "furloughed" jobs will come back as small businesses and those deemed "non-essential" go back to work. In a definite rebuke to the nanny-state, Patria is relying on its citizens to voluntarily be responsible to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Social distancing, whenever possible, will still be encouraged, as will be working from home and frequent hand-washing.

In the decision to end the lockdown, lawmakers in Castoropolis and the precinct legislatures noted that the economic toll and the and mental health costs of shutting down the Inner Realm far outweighed the potential damage of COVID19. Patria's physical health system (single-payer of course) can handle any spike in COVID19 cases. It might even be able to handle the spike in obesity, heart disease and type 2 diabetes that would result from so many citizens forced into virtual house arrest being deprived of many of their usual physical activities such as working out at a local gym. But the mental health system would be overwhelmed by the spike in depression, anxiety, domestic violence, relationship break-ups, PTSD and suicide attempts that would result from the massive job losses and economic collapse of an extended lockdown.

Patria, like Sweden, is aiming for herd immunity  - or at least aiming to allow the virus to run its course among healthy citizens, who will likely experience no more than mild flu-like symptoms, if they have symptoms at all - and will impose only a few common-sense restrictions. Anyone entering Patria, whether a returning citizen or a tourist off the beaten path, will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days. Contact with elderly or high-risk citizens of Patria, particularly in nursing homes and hospitals will be restricted, kids might not have some quality time with their grandparents, and there will still be no large gatherings by the thousands such as sports events. The All-Patria Football Federation decided to continue suspending the soccer season rather than play games without fans in the stands, while the Patrienish Hockey League is still considering a plan to play in empty rinks, finish the regular season, or possibly go directly to the Kamala Cup (the PHL's Stanley Cup) playoffs. Patria's two baseball leagues, like their counterparts in South Korea and Taiwan, will begin the 2020 regular season with no spectators.

With almost all major professional sports shut down indefinitely, sports talk radio stations such as PMBC-1152 have not had much to talk about. Nonetheless, Jungle Party leader Jim Rome has announced that Smack-Off XXVI will air on Friday, June 19. Coronavirus or no, the defending Smack-Off champion is Brad in Corona!

Greta's climate strikes on hold amid coronavirus lockdown

Greta Thunberg, who is likely to be named an honorary citizen of Patria even before she is old enough to vote or serve in Congress, has urged climate campaigners to avoid mass protests as the new COVID-19 coronavirus spreads, but said her "Fridays for Future" movement would organize online strikes instead.

Although it is rare for a living person to be depicted on a stamp in Patria, Patria Post's first commemorative stamp issue of 2020 honors Greta. Note "School strike for climate" in Patrienish.

There are no cases of COVID-19 in Patria. Nonetheless, and in order to keep it that way, Patria is taking the same lockdown, self-quarantine and social distancing precautions as are currently happening in virtually all the countries of the macro-world. That means no PHL hockey, All Patria Football Federation soccer, Castorian League and Lazurian League baseball, or virtually any other sports event. Public gatherings and events are temporarily on hold, canceled or postponed indefinitely. Yoga studios, libraries, schools and other potential sources of transmission are shut down. Greta, Green New Deal on order paper as Congress begins new session
