“Rise up, push back” against COVID mandates as Congress begins session

After sitting for an hour or two in the early afternoon of Inauguration Day, June 30, the new Fifty Second Congress adjourned for the traditional summer recess. Recess time ends today as Congress members return to the Capitol to begin the First Session (1·LII 2022-23), postponed one day in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen’s state funeral was held on the day Congress was scheduled to re-convene, Sept. 19. Patria paid its respects to the greatest modern macro-national monarch and her 70 year reign.

On the order paper for the First Session is a call to “rise up and push back” should any government attempt to re-impose mask mandates, vaccine passports, school closures, lockdowns and other COVID-19 restrictions. As duly noted, the time for government overreach has passed, the measures were of very little practical use to stop COVID’s spread and online school likely caused many children irreparable damage. Learn to live with it. As Patria has been saying since 2020, kevál estí grippí – it’s only the flu (or a bad cold).

RIP Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

“Don’t be a pussy!” as NU plays the Law and Order card

To virtually no one’s surprise, the National Union is campaigning hard on a Law and Order platform that can be summarized as pro-cop and anti-cat. Even more than National Unionists despise soft-on-crime liberals, they detest men who don’t like dogs, are scared of dogs, or who own cats. In the NU’s macho world, dogs are equated with manliness, loyalty and obedience, while cats are useless and effeminate as no police force has ever employed a feline unit and no home has ever been protected by a guard cat. No police department in Patria is in danger of being defunded, violent crime is generally quite rare in Patria, and most cops in Patria do not carry guns while walking foot patrols (but like London Bobbies, they do have nightsticks and know how to use them!) but nonetheless the NU is playing the pro-cop Blue Lives Matter (#bluelivesmatter) card to the hilt.

The NU’s 2022 campaign slogan found on posters and broadcast ads: “Don’t be a pussy!” referring both to cats and the female genitalia.

Finally, a reminder that Omicron is a street in Patria’s capital city Castoropolis (Kashipura). A very pleasant street that passes through the campus of the University of Castoropolis to boot. Patria has never imposed mask mandates, lockdowns, school closures, vaccine passports, or any other COVID-19 restrictions, other than focused protection in nursing homes, long-term care centers and the like. No party contesting the 2022 election is in favor of such things.

SRM playing “To Hell with China” card hard again

SRM campaign poster
Typical SRM campaign poster

Just as in 2018, the SRM is again campaigning hard on a PATRIA FIRST and TAKE BACK THE ECONOMY platform, rooted in the old concept of Swadeshi or total self-sufficiency in domestic production, rather than dependence on imported goods.

Despite the “NO MORE CHINESE JUNK” and “BRING THE JOBS HOME” ranting in the SRM’s print and broadcast messages, the Party has not offered any substantial plan for how the manufacture of typically Chinese-made consumer goods – pretty much everything from computers and electronics to rupee-store crap – will be re-established in Patria (or for that matter in Canada, the US or any other First World macronation) without causing the price of those goods to skyrocket, assuming that the factories can even be built in Patria and enough workers can be found who are willing to accept even Patria’s generous minimum wage.

Needless to add, the SRM is also spewing out anti-China hate for unleashing COVID-19 on the world, likely through an accidental lab leak. The common Patrienish phrase for COVID is grippí Chínië – literally “Chinese flu”.

In-your-face Hinduism plus Patria First economic nationalism! Does that sound like a winning combination, particularly when attempting to draw votes from the now-defunct Amrita Party?

Amrita Party dissolves for 2022

After making only a token effort thus far on the 2022 campaign trail, the Amrita Party has announced its permanent dissolution and will not be seeking seats in the 52nd Congress. The Party released a communiqué full of COVID-19 cliché phrases such as “out of an abundance of caution”, “we’re all in this together” and “it is with a heavy heart that the Amrita Party is closing operations permanently”. Holding 78 seats, the Amrita Party was the second-largest caucus in the 51st Congress, behind only the Social Democrats’ 96 seats.

The Amrita Party was established in 2001 as the voice of Amma’s Patrienish devotees with Amma as House leader in Congress, representing the Precinct of Arboria. The party was generally liberal-progressive, reflecting the political views of the vast majority of Amma’s western devotees in the macro-world (notwithstanding that conservatives, Republicans, and even die-hard supporters of Donald Trump go for Amma’s darshan too!). During its twenty years, the Amrita Party can boast of some major achievements in Patria that will continue the party’s legacy in 2022 and beyond:

  • Inclusion of Amma's teachings and bhajans (devotional songs) in the curriculum of many of Patria's elementary schools.
  • Opening of a branch of the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) hospital in Patria.
  • Establishment of a campus of the Amrita University in Patria.
  • Establishment of a permanent Amma ashram in Patria, in Karunanagar, Caesarea, easily accessible via the Caesarea Coast Line of the Castoropolis and Caesarea Railways (CCR).
  • Addition of Amrita Television to all basic cable TV services in Patria.
Where does the Amrita Party’s demise leave the 78 members of the caucus? They will continue to hold their seats in Congress until their terms expire on June 30, 2022. Some will sit as independents for the remaining six months of the 51st Congress term of office, while others will call themselves IAM – Independent Amrita Members – and hope for enough write-in votes or for the Amrita Party to remain printed on their precinct’s ballot so that they have a puncher’s chance of retaining a seat in the 52nd Congress. But they shouldn’t count on many write-in votes. Most of the voters/devotees who cast ballots for Amrita in 2018 will gravitate to the Chakra Party, Greens or Social Democrats. But don’t assume that all Amrita voters are liberal, leftist or progressive (see reference to conservatives also going for Amma’s darshan). A fair number of Amrita voters will go for the SRM in 2022.

The fact that Amma could not set foot outside her ashram in Kerala or hug her millions of devotees, let alone visit Patria because of COVID-19 is a convenient whipping boy for the Amrita Party’s demise. On the right-wing talk stations such as POKX-648, SRM’ers and National Unionists were gloating that Amrita had run its course, is now a spent force and the Amma gravy train (or hugging train) has come to a halt.

Not exactly the message from Amma that Patria hoped to hear.

Visit Patria’s capital city – where Delta and Omicron are streets!

COVID-19 travel restrictions got you down? Do you want to visit someplace where you don’t have to wear masks indoors, don’t have to be tested or quarantined on arrival, and don’t have to produce a vaccine passport along with your regular passport? Someplace where bars, restaurants and other indoor gathering places are not subject to capacity limits and other restrictions? Consider a visit to Patria! The following visitor’s guide to Castoropolis is based on one of Patria’s old long-defunct Geocities web pages dating from the Clinton administration.

Patria's capital city and its largest city, Castoropolis -- known in Sanskrit as Kashipura -- contains features of other capital cities planned and built from scratch in the modern era, such as Washington, Brasilia, Canberra, and New Delhi - particularly in its radial street layout in which the Capitol is the central hub, wide boulevards and diagonal connecting streets, and central green space or "Common". It is centered on the Island of Castoropolis, a nearly round island in the St. Joseph River - which has since been officially renamed Naya Ganga or New Ganges.  In the years following the Dharmic Revolution of 1989-90 many Anglo-sounding names of places and streets in Patria have been Sanskritized. But just as in India, where English street names in New Delhi and Bombay have been replaced by Hindi or Sanskrit names and even the name of Bombay has been changed to Mumbai, the new names have generally failed to catch on despite the best efforts of the government. In the text that follows, all official Sanskrit re-namings are indicated in [square brackets].

 Orientation:

Castoropolis was established as Patria's permanent capital city by act of the First Congressus Patriaë in 1818, only a few months after Independence, while Congress met in the temporary capital of Hammond, Caesarea. In the 1820s the new city was planned and built with obvious inspiration from the plan of Washington, DC designed by Pierre L'Enfant.  The Federal District of Castoropolis, whose boundaries are co-extensive with the city itself, is entirely surrounded by several cities, towns, and suburban sprawl in the Precinct of Caesarea.  The original area of the Federal District of Castoropolis consisted only of the Island of Castoropolis.  By the turn of the 20th century the city's built-up areas had expanded beyond the limits of the island and so in 1917 an act of the 25th Congress incorporated into the Federal District several towns and villages in the Precinct of Caesarea on the east side of the Naya Ganga. One town, Crozier Heights, fought the annexation and remains part of Caesarea. Crozier Heights is an upper-class enclave, like Toronto's Forest Hill or Montreal's Westmount, home to much of Patria's Jewish community.

The Capitol building, which houses the Congressus Patriaë, is the central focus of Castoropolis. Located only a few metres east of the geographic centre of the Island of Castoropolis, its dome and rotunda are very similar in appearance to the United States Capitol.  Extending west from the Capitol is Castoropolis Common [Bhavani Bagh], a large central park. In fact, Castoropolis Common is not unlike New York City's Central Park, offering a large open field for concerts, numerous recreational facilities, wooded areas, and secluded spots for doing yoga. In the 1970s and 80s the Common served as a hangout for drug dealers, muggers, rapists, homeless bums and other assorted sleaze, and travelers were advised to visit during daylight hours only, but it has since been cleaned up, thanks in part to the Federal District government that was led by the law-and-order National Union in the 1990s and early 2000s. A gridiron pattern of residential streets is superimposed on the radial/diagonal plan.  Streets running east and west are numbered (beginning with First Street, one block north and south of the Capitol and the baseline streets: Crozier St. East [Shankaracharya Marg] and Justice St [Dasharath Marg]), while streets running north and south - with the exception of four major arteries - have Greek letters (beginning with Alpha Street one block east and west of the Capitol and the baseline street: Schaefer St [Shakti Marg]), continuing until Omega Street. The island is divided into four quadrants, relative to the Capitol: North West, North East, South West and South East, similar to Washington, DC. Thus there may be as many as four intersections of , for example, Sixth and Gamma Streets:  NW, NE, SW,  and SE.

Downtown area

The map above details the central business district at the western end of the Common. St. Joseph [Radha-Krishna] Station handles mainly local commuter trains; most inter-city rail traffic runs out of Union [Mahasabha] Station, a neo-Gothic rockpile (à la Bombay's Victoria Terminus) located at 4th and Vermont [Vaikuntha Marg] NW.  Hector [Hanuman] St. was once the capital's truly slimy side, in the last century teemng with hookers, pimps and drug dealers.  The Hector Hotel, at Hector and 4th St. SW, used to be a notorious whore-house before it was renovated and became a guest house for visiting swamis, swaminis, sadhus and sadhvis (Hindu holy men and women). If you find a couple of churches but don't see any Hindu temples marked on this map, there's a reason for it: this map dates from 1976, long before the Dharmic Revolution.

Central/midtown area

The map above details the eastern end of the Common and the many government buildings surrounding the Capitol at the centre of the Island of Castoropolis.  Many of the government buildings, such as the Treasury Dept., Post Office Department and Library of Congress, are massive monuments of Art Deco kitsch, built in the 1930s as make-work projects during the  Depression. Both the U.S. and Russian Embassies are conveniently located a few blocks east of the Capitol. The Canadian Embassy is at 200 Theta St. NW.  Crozier St. East [Poorva Shankaracharya Marg], a wide boulevard extending east from the Capitol to the former Executive Mansion (now Shanti Mandir, a Hindu temple) on the eastern end of the Island, is the main ceremonial parade route for Inaugural parades, Rathyatra (the annual Parade of Chariots) and other Hindu ceremonial processions.

Public Transit

Castoropolis Metro (Subway)
The capital's first subway line was opened in 1918 as a special project to mark Patria's centennial year. The system has grown over the past 100-plus years to four lines and over 150 stations.

Castoropolis and Caesarea Railways
Castoropolis and Caesarea Railways (CCR) provide suburban commuter rail service throughout the greater Castoropolis region, between downtown Castoropolis and Hammond (the capital of Caesarea) and even into the neighboring Precinct of Antioch, using EMU and DMU trainsets, as well as bi-level electric locomotive-hauled trains.

Castoropolis Transit (CT) buses serve all areas of the Federal District and the surrounding cities in Caesarea. Most CT bus routes provide direct connections with the subway. Above, a Canadian-built General Motors "New Look" bus, #5708, lays over at the end of Route 1, Adelphi-Philidor in 2002. The New Looks (also known as "Fishbowls") have since been retired.

Election Day in Canada, election season in Patria as Congress returns from summer recess

On the day that Canada holds its 44th federal election since 1867, Patria’s Fifty First Congress returns from summer recess to begin the Fourth Session (4·LI 2021-22). Patria will not endorse any party in Canada’s election even if the Social Democrat House Leader and honorary Patrienish citizen Bernie Sanders has thrown his support to the NDP’s Jagmeet Singh.

Although some campaigning has already taken place, the opening of the Fourth Session marks the de facto start of the 2022 election cycle and the race for the Fifty Second Congress. Although perhaps not the front-runner with election day some seven months away on April 16, 2022 (with many Patirenish citizens voting via advance polls and mail-in ballots beginning in March or even February 2022, that date is actually the conclusion of  "election season"), the SRM is particularly out in front with election campaign posters, billboards and broadcast media ads, going hard on the slogans TAKE BACK THE ECONOMY, PATRIA FIRST and MAKE CHINA PAY (i.e. for the cost of the pandemic). The Chakra Party has also launched its campaign with the slogan “the Inner Voice of Patria”.

SRM are front-runners at least for campaign posters.

Chakra Party also out early with its 2022 slogan.

Near the top of the Fourth Session order paper is a renewed vow not to impose vaccine passports or mask mandates. Masks will be optional in Patria, though recommended to be worn in certain circumstances such as by those who are actually infected with COVID-19 when not in isolation. Vaccines are freely available and highly recommended, but getting a COVID jab and presenting paper or electronic proof of it in order to enter a gym, eat at a restaurant, attend a sports event, or gain entry to other public places will never be mandatory anywhere. Patria remains committed to achieving herd immunity, protecting those at high risk and learning to live with COVID like the seasonal flu.

With Navratri just around the corner, Patria Post issued a stamp depicting Devi Saraswati.

"Patria is not woke!" is the take-away as Congress adjourns

The Third Session of the Fifty First Congress (3·LI 2020-21) adjourned for the summer recess at 11:23 PM local time today. The Sergeant-at-Arms brought down the gavel immediately after the traditional Annual Message to Congress was delivered by the Speaker Pro Tem. The message ended with a reminder that despite being generally progressive and liberal on social issues and economic policy, with a plurality of seats held by Social Democrats, Patria is not "woke".

Following the the text of the Annual Message to Congress:

Mr. Sergeant-at-Arms, members of this House, fellow Citizens of Patria, on this day we rise to acknowledge that with the Divine Mother’s blessings, the Fifty First Congress has reached the three-quarter mark of its term.

In keeping with Patria’s traditions and congressional protocol, the last act of the Third Session took place just moments ago – the ratification of Patria’s fiscal 2022 budget that – with support from all parties – will include almost a trillion rupees earmarked for keeping Patria’s transportation infrastructure in a state of good repair.

And in keeping with a new 51st Congress tradition, once again this final day’s sitting was paused for three hours in order to listen to Jungle Party House Leader Jim Rome’s Smack-Off XXVII, broadcast on PMBC-1152. Congratulations to Smack-Off winner Brad in Corona, his sixth Smack-Off title.

One major legislative achievement of this session is the elimination of the gerontocracy, such as seen in the United States from Joe Biden to Nancy Pelosi. This House has ratified legislation imposing a mandatory retirement age of 75 for all public offices in Patria, from rat catcher to Speaker of the House.

In this Session of Congress, as in the Second Session, Patria has considered the COVID-19 pandemic – or should we say “panic-demic” – little more than a bad flu season, like the Hong Kong Flu pandemic of 1968. Remind us again how long we had to wear masks in 1968. Remind us again how many small businesses were shuttered and how many social, sporting and other public events were canceled in 1968. Remind us again how long we had to forgo hugs and human contact in 1968. Remind us again how many cases of cancer and other deadly diseases went undetected and untreated in 1968. Remind us again how suicides, domestic violence, alcoholism, drug abuse, personal bankruptcies, obesity and depression spiked due to extended lockdowns in 1968. Patria has consistently said NO to government overreach and over-reaction, NO to unelected public health officers wielding dictatorial powers, imposing lockdowns, social restrictions and mask mandates. Alone against virtually the entire the macro-world and even the micro-world, who believed we could extra-constitutionally and unilaterally impose freedom-destroying restrictions and ultimately vaccinate our way out of COVID, Patria adopted herd immunity, put into practice the “Focused Protection” approach of the Great Barrington Declaration and allowed daily life for healthy citizens to continue almost unchanged even before a made-in-Patria version of the AstraZeneca vaccine became available, along with the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. From grade school to graduate school, from ABCs to PhDs, schools in Patria have remained open. Not one day of in-person in-classroom instruction has been missed because of COVID. Not a single restaurant has been forced to limit itself to take-out because of COVID. Patria’s small family-owned businesses have not only stayed open during COVID, they continue to thwart the plans of Costco, Walmart and the other big-boxers to expand into Patria. Have there been, and are there still, cases of COVID in Patria? Yes, and the vast majority of these cases are mild, only slightly worse than a typical seasonal flu that can be treated by resting at home. Have there been hospitalizations because of COVID? Yes, and there is not a single emergency room or intensive care unit in Patria that has been overwhelmed beyond capacity due to COVID. Have citizens of Patria died because of COVID? Yes, unfortunately. But virtually all of these deaths occurred among elderly people living in nursing homes, long-term care homes and the like, as well as those already in poor health due to underlying medical issues or compromised immune systems. Only in a tiny handful of cases was COVID the primary cause of death.

Patria rejects the privatization of the war on free speech, the downloading of government-mandated censorship and cancellation of politically incorrect and dissident online voices to private sector gatekeepers – particularly the tech giants, internet providers and social media major players such as Twitter and Facebook. Such private sector censorship or deplatforming is an end-run around the Constitutions of both the United States and Patria that enshrine freedom of speech – not limited to freedom of speech in ones home or in the pre-internet paper media and public square – as the most fundamental human right.

For those snowflakes and SJWs who complain of micro-aggressions, oppression or so-called systemic racism (which, unlike real systemic racism such as Apartheid or Jim Crow, has never existed in Patria), whose feelings may be hurt by words and pictures, know this: government can protect its citizens only against physical harm. Not against hurt feelings. For protection against the latter, one must grow a pair of testicles or ovaries, and recall what your parents and caregivers taught you as a pre-schooler to respond to name-calling bullies: “sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me”.

As the Fifty-Second Congress campaign begins in earnest this summer even before the opening of the Fourth Session, as Patria prepares to vote in April 2022, know this: from Social Democrats to SRM, all parties in Patria say NO to cancel culture. NO to the Thought Police enforcing extra-legal speech and thought codes from college campuses to corporate boardrooms. NO to the violent thugs of Antifa, an openly Marxist organization that neither speaks for the majority of the Black community in the United States or in Patria, nor in any way, shape or form, represents their best interests. NO to PC virtue signalling. NO to critical race theory, white guilt and “equity” over equality. YES to free speech, free thought, open debate and ALL LIVES MATTER, not only the black ones. As the summer recess begins, as Campaign 2022 rolls out, as the #Patriavotes2022 hashtag appears on Twitter, don’t be fooled by the number of seats held by Social Democrats in this House. Patria may be leftist or socialist in economic policy, Patria may be progressive in social and environmental policy, but Patria rejects Cultural Marxism and is NOT woke!

And let us stay un-woke when this House meets again in September.

Let us pause to remember the lives lost by suicide as a direct result of COVID-19 lockdowns in Canada, the US, UK and elsewhere in the macro-world, and the hundreds, if not thousands, of North American First Nations children who died of disease, hunger or abuse in residential schools and were buried in unmarked graves across Canada.

Lokah samasthah sukhino bhavantu.

Asato ma sad gamaya
Tamaso ma jyotir gamaya
Mrityor ma amritam gamaya.

Hari Om.  Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.

Under the power vested in me by the Constitution of Patria, I declare closed the Third Session of the 51st Congress, and call this Congress to re-assemble here on Monday, 20 September 2021, to open the Fourth Session of the 51st Congress
.

Campaign 2022 posters are beginning to roll out across Patria.

Election Day in Patria is April 16, 2022. As in previous election campaigns, you can follow the race for Patria's 52nd Congress on Twitter, using the hashtag #patriavotes2022

Don't let it dominate you - recovery rate of COVID19 is 99 percent

Patria prefers US President Donald Trump's approach to COVID-19: "don't let it dominate you". The recovery rate of COVID-19 is around 99 percent. Possibly closer to 99.5 or 99.6%. With that in mind, even the House Leader of the Chakra Party, a party who often had been in favor of restrictions and lockdowns earlier this year and even voted against Patria's ratification of the Great Barrington Declaration (which Google doesn't want you to read), spoke in Congress and noted the following:

"Madam Speaker, as we know, the recovery rate of Covid19 is 99%.

What is the recovery rate of your business?

What is the recovery rate of the woman who got beat within an inch of her life last night due to domestic abuse?

What is the recovery rate of the person whose stress levels went sky high and they just crossed the line into full addiction and is on their way to an overdose?

What is the recovery rate of the late diagnosis of cancer? Of heart disease or type 2 diabetes that could have been prevented had the gyms and fitness facilities not been forced to close?

What is the recovery rate of the employees who lost their job and now struggle with their ability to feed their family and pay their rent or mortgage?

What is the recovery rate of your mental health and that of the people you love, the person standing two meters away from you in the lineup with her face covered, the older gentlemen who sits alone on the park bench or the 22 year old kid who feels lost in his/her own thoughts?

What is the recovery rate of our ability to trust our government and our public health officials?

It’s not 99%, you can bet your last rupee on that."
Navratri in Patria this year will be the same as it was last year, a catch-all of friends and family, home and temple pujas, food and football (All Patria Football Federation soccer, not the NFL). For Navratri, for Diwali next month, and even for Christmas in December, Patrienish citizens will hug, laugh, eat, and enjoy each other. What the pandemic should have taught us is life is too short. Wasting precious moments scared and apart is no way to handle the gift we’ve been given.

Patria Post has issued a Navratri 2020 stamp. Note Durga's fierce tiger transformed into a little kitten.

Patria ratifies Great Barrington Declaration, calling for "Focused Protection"

Patria's Ministry of External Affairs has signed and the 51st Congress has ratified the Great Barrington Declaration. The Declaration, drafted in the Massachusetts town not far from the Kripalu Center, is a major statement of COVID-19 dissident voices by a number of leading physicians and epidemiologists at such nests of conspiracy theorists as Oxford, Harvard and Stanford, who have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, and who recommend an approach they call Focused Protection.

The following is the text of the Declaration:

As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, and recommend an approach we call Focused Protection.

Coming from both the left and right, and around the world, we have devoted our careers to protecting people. Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health. The results (to name a few) include lower childhood vaccination rates, worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings and deteriorating mental health – leading to greater excess mortality in years to come, with the working class and younger members of society carrying the heaviest burden. Keeping students out of school is a grave injustice.

Keeping these measures in place until a vaccine is available will cause irreparable damage, with the underprivileged disproportionately harmed.

Fortunately, our understanding of the virus is growing. We know that vulnerability to death from COVID-19 is more than a thousand-fold higher in the old and infirm than the young. Indeed, for children, COVID-19 is less dangerous than many other harms, including influenza.

As immunity builds in the population, the risk of infection to all – including the vulnerable – falls. We know that all populations will eventually reach herd immunity – i.e.  the point at which the rate of new infections is stable – and that this can be assisted by (but is not dependent upon) a vaccine. Our goal should therefore be to minimize mortality and social harm until we reach herd immunity.

The most compassionate approach that balances the risks and benefits of reaching herd immunity, is to allow those who are at minimal risk of death to live their lives normally to build up immunity to the virus through natural infection, while better protecting those who are at highest risk. We call this Focused Protection.

Adopting measures to protect the vulnerable should be the central aim of public health responses to COVID-19. By way of example, nursing homes should use staff with acquired immunity and perform frequent PCR testing of other staff and all visitors. Staff rotation should be minimized. Retired people living at home should have groceries and other essentials delivered to their home. When possible, they should meet family members outside rather than inside. A comprehensive and detailed list of measures, including approaches to multi-generational households, can be implemented, and is well within the scope and capability of public health professionals.

Those who are not vulnerable should immediately be allowed to resume life as normal. Simple hygiene measures, such as hand washing and staying home when sick should be practiced by everyone to reduce the herd immunity threshold. Schools and universities should be open for in-person teaching. Extracurricular activities, such as sports, should be resumed. Young low-risk adults should work normally, rather than from home. Restaurants and other businesses should open. Arts, music, sport and other cultural activities should resume. People who are more at risk may participate if they wish, while society as a whole enjoys the protection conferred upon the vulnerable by those who have built up herd immunity.

Focused Protection fits in well with Patria's approach to COVID-19. As you know (if you have been reading this blog), Patria is committed to herd immunity, keeping the economy - particularly local small businesses - open, opposing any attempt to impose lockdowns, and allowing life as we knew it in 2019 to continue as much as possible. Note that wearing masks in public places and indoor spaces is not mentioned at all in the Declaration. Citizens of Patria recognize the risks but choose a life with hugs, social gatherings, sports events, performing arts, in-person education, public prayers in temples, churches, synagogues and other houses of worship, and all forms of meaningful human contact. Navratri is only a few days away. Along with the usual prayers, chants and pujas to Durga, Lakshmi, Kali and Saraswati, temples throughout Patria will continue to offer pujas to Sheetala, (pictured at top of page) the Devi who cures all infectious diseases.

Sweden: “We’re going for herd immunity”. Patria: “Hold my beer” as Congress opens new session

Jai Sheetala Mata! Protecting Patria from COVID-19.

As the Fifty-First Congress returned from summer recess to open the Third Session (3·LI 2020-21) Patria is doubling down on its Covid-19 dissident voices. All across Patria, on radio and television spots, on billboards and handbills, and on the lips of almost every Patrienish citizen who is not buying the US-media-induced fear, the phrase “kevál estí grippí” – it’s only the flu – is resonating. At home altars and puja rooms, as well as at temples across Patria, the protection and blessings of Mother Sheetala are invoked.

Near the top of the Third Session’s order paper is Patria’s commitment to herd immunity (not “herd mentality” as Donald Trump referenced it), particularly as students from KG to PhD begin the new academic year. As the Speaker of the House said today: “Patria’s healthy children, teenagers and young adults are on the front line of herd immunity. They are the vanguard shock troops who will build a line of defense in order to protect the elderly, those with compromised immune systems and those with underlying medical conditions against the actual threat of Covid-19, while themselves suffering no more than a mild flu or bad cold should they actually contract it”. Congress also re-affirmed that there will never be a Patria-wide lockdown, and any attempt to impose one on the precinct or local level will be actively resisted no matter how many positive tests or “cases” of Covid-19 (not hospital admissions or even “serious cases”) are discovered locally. The Social Democrats house leader added: “When Sweden says ‘we’re going for herd immunity and no lockdown’, Patria says ‘hold my beer’”.

If you visit Patria, not only will you see virtually everything open for business as usual and virtually everyone freely associating (and hugging to boot), you will only rarely find anyone wearing a mask. Unless, as recommended by Patria’s Ministry of Dharma and Health, they are in self-quarantine, working in a health care facility, or are actually infected.

Rather than buying the fear-mongers and vaccine-pushers such as Dr. Anthony Fauci, Patria is heeding the advice of Prof. Udi Qimron, soon-to-be-head of the Department of Clinical Microbiology and Immunology at Tel Aviv University:

"The total number of coronavirus deaths does not exceed 0.1% of the total population in any country, and the death rate from coronavirus is less than 0.01% of the total world population, meaning that 99.99% of the world's population so far has survived the epidemic and the virus is negligibly lethal.

Smart behavior would be the opposite of what we do today. Populations not at risk should become infected and create chains of immunity, which will protect the sick and the elderly. We are currently working for sweeping social distancing, which prevents such differential immunity.

There is a very great interest for anyone who has supported the draconian measures taken around the world to say that Sweden's policy has failed. Because if it succeeded, and trillions went down the drain for no reason, someone will have to answer for it.

That is why all over the world they prefer to claim that Sweden was wrong. But in the end, the truth came to the surface.

If we had not been told that there was an epidemic in the country, you would not have known there was such an epidemic and you would not have done anything about it. The fact that this issue runs all day in the media inflates it beyond its natural dimensions. If black death had raged here, as in the 14th century, you would not have had to follow the situation in the news, the bodies would have piled up in the streets. We were not and we are not in this situation today.

In a world where decision makers, their advisers and the media were able to admit their mistake and the initial panic that gripped them, we would have long since returned to routine. The ongoing destruction due to the inability to admit this mistake, despite the epidemic’s small mortality numbers, is outrageous. History will judge the hysteria."

Indeed, history will judge the macro-world’s hysteria over what amounts to little more than another strain of the seasonal flu. History will judge the long-term damage (trillions of dollars, quadrillions of rupees) to the macro-world’s economy as well as to the mental and emotional health of those forced to wear masks for what could be a year or more, isolate from those who as recently as March 2020 used to bring them nurturing hugs, and for the sake of social distancing give up the human contact from religious services to sports events that used to provide sustenance and a meaningful quality of life. Patria will not follow the absurdities of much of the macro-world’s path of over-reaction and government over-reach. As Voltaire said, “Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities”.

Congress adjourns at mid-term, invokes Sheetala's blessings to cure COVID

As the Fifty First Congress adjourned for the summer recess at the midpoint of its term, the Arati to Sheetala (click on above) was sung in temples throughout Patria as the Inner Realm continues to seek her blessings in order to find a cure for COVID19.

Patria is doubling down on herd immunity and COVID dissident voices as the Annual Message to Congress was delivered and the Sergeant-at-Arms brought down the gavel to declare closed the Second Session of the 51st Congress (2·LI 2019-20) and call lawmakers to return to the Capitol on September 21, 2020 for the Third Session (3·LI 2020-21).

Following is the transcription of the Annual Message:

Om Durga Uma Lalitha Bhavanye Namah. With the Divine Mother’s blessings and at the lotus feet of Amma Sri Karunamayi and Amma Amritanandamayi, the Fifty-first Congress has come to the midpoint of its term. The Second Session actually passed quite a bit of legislation and held some key debates from September 2019 until the first week of March 2020. And then the lamps went out all over the world, as the corona virus gripped both the macro- and micro-world in fear of another 1918 flu pandemic. Yet over the course of the Second Session, while the corona virus has proliferated throughout the macro-world, there have been only a few mala’s worth of serious cases of COVID-19 in Patria that required hospitalization and fewer than 108 mahasamadhis that were directly attributable to the virus. For the vast majority of Patrienish citizens who contracted it, COVID-19 turned out to be little more than a mild flu, if they had any symptoms at all.

For several weeks in March and April, as a lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19 was imposed, Patria’s economy ground to a near halt. But the lockdown was called off not only because COVID-19 failed to become the deadly killer that the fear-mongers had predicted but because the social, economic and mental health costs of indefinite layoffs, furloughs and forcing almost everyone to stay at home as if under house arrest were far worse than the disease itself. Here on the floor of Congress, it was argued by the Social Democrats and SRM opposition alike that the goals of keeping the economy out of recession and allowing citizens to resume their everyday activities far outweighed the need to cower at home out of fear in order to feel safe from a disease that was having almost no effect on much of Patria. As Congress and the 13 Precincts declared an immediate end to the lockdown, the following points were made in favor of re-opening the economy:

  • How many children should starve in order to make you feel safe?
  • How many families must go bankrupt in order to make you feel safe?
  • How many business owners should lose everything they've worked for in order to make you feel safe?
  • How many people are you comfortable with committing suicide from hopelessness and financial ruin in order to make you feel safe?
  • How many women and children should be victims of domestic violence in order to make you feel safe?
  • When so many are trapped indoors, deprived of their usual exercise at their local gym, YMCA or other fitness facility, how many cases of heart disease, obesity and type 2 diabetes are you willing to tolerate in order to make you feel safe?
  • How many cases of alcoholism, drug abuse, depression, anxiety and PTSD do you find acceptable in order that you feel safe?
  • How many people have to lose their jobs, their life savings, and most important precious time with their family and loved ones they will never get back in order to make you feel safe?
Also, remember this – if the macro-world TV news had never told you to be afraid of this virus, you wouldn't have. You likely would have gone about your life as usual along with everyone else. You likely would have thought that this was just another type of flu. So remember, citizens of Patria and the macro-world alike, that all your fears and panic exist because you were told by the mainstream media to live in fear and panic, because you can’t spell pandemic without panic. Patria will not live in fear and panic. Patria will say “kevál estí grippí” – it’s only the flu. Patria will let the virus run its course among healthy citizens who are at low risk of serious or potentially fatal complications, while protecting those who are at high risk, particularly seniors in nursing homes and anyone with pre-existing health issues or weakened immune systems. Patria will advocate reasonable common-sense precautions such as frequent hand washing, while aiming towards the goal of herd immunity in defiance of the “experts” and “our betters”.

A little over a month ago, Patria had only four words to say to the COVID-19 Thought Police and fear-mongers: I DO NOT CONSENT. To that message, one more can be added: I do not consent to wearing a mask in public places. Unless you are actually sick, caring for someone who is sick, or work in a hospital, masks are of dubious value. Not wearing masks can be Patria’s simple act of civil disobedience, Patria’s answer to the so-called experts and authority figures. If the fear-mongers are correct and a second wave of COVID-19 really does happen later this year or early 2021, and should any precinct legislatures or city mayors attempt to impose another lockdown for the sake of the tiny one percent or less of the population actually at risk, Patria’s second wave will be a wave of satyagraha – non-violent civil disobedience inspired by Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr., but for the most part leaderless resistance. Know this. There will be non-violent pushback to any kind of authoritarian government overreach. SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS.

If a second Great Depression is foisted upon us because of the corona virus, Patria is prepared to weather the storm. Amid the declines in the stock market, both Wall Street and the Castoropolis Stock Exchange, the Patrienish Rupee is still the most stable micronational currency. When the lockdown was abandoned in mid-April, trillions of rupees were saved that would have been paid out in unemployment benefits and business bailouts, and instead will flow back into the economy from the pockets of consumers. This has not gone unnoticed in the last act of the Second Session that took place earlier today, the ratification of Patria’s fiscal 2021 budget, albeit paused for three hours so that members of this House could listen to Jungle Party leader Jim Rome’s Smack-Off XXVI on PMBC-1152. Congratulations to the Smack-Off winner, Leff in Laguna.

Patria is not a safe place for status quo dishwater-dull moderates. Patria is not a place for incremental change or “nothing will fundamentally change” centrists. In the remaining two years of this Congress’ mandate, Patria must remain a safe place for dissident voices, for liberals who have been red-pilled to some extent by COVID-19, for populists who despise the elites, for politically incorrect iconoclasts and for those who thumb their noses at the leftist Thought Police while at the same time advocating a made-in-Patria progressive democratic socialism in which the violent thugs of Antifa and the discredited rabble who destroy statues of great leaders and monuments to our proud heritage are not welcome.

Far be it from Patria to endorse any candidate in a macro-national election, particularly for the US presidency. Nonetheless, Patria still “feels the Bern” and believes that honorary Patrienish citizen Bernie Sanders would have won in 2016 and should be campaigning for re-election today rather than being on the losing end of a battle with the Democratic National Committee, Wall Street plutocrats and the establishment powers that be. Joe Biden is the Hillary Clinton of 2020 and it will probably not end well for Sleepy Joe. Biden’s cognitive abilities have declined to the point where he is unfit for the job. His rambling, incoherent sound bites are not “gaffes” but clear displays of senility showing that he belongs in a retirement home, not the White House. American citizens living in the Inner Realm should not endorse the zero-sum binary game of US politics in which Republicans and Democrats are locked in a virtual duopoly, but should instead mail in their absentee ballots for a Third Party candidate such as the Green Party or a write-in vote for Bernie Sanders.

As Congress adjourns for the summer, let us pray: Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu and let us offer pranams to Mother Sheetala, who cures all infectious diseases. Jai Sheetala Mata!

Under the power vested in me by the Constitution of Patria, I declare closed the Second Session of the 51st Congress, and call this Congress to re-assemble here on Monday, 21 September 2020, to open the Third Session of the 51st Congress.

"It's only the flu" - Patria doubles down on COVID-19 dissent

As Patria Post rolls out a new stamp dedicated to Sheetala, the donkey-riding goddess who cures infectious diseases from smallpox to COVID-19, the All-Patria Football Federation will resume its season, with fans in the stands to boot. Patria has launched a campaign against the fear of a generally mild and even asymptomatic disease that is of no more threat than the seasonal flu for those who have a healthy immune system. Posters and broadcast ads across Patria proclaim "it's only the flu" - in Patrienish kevál estí grippí. Physical/social distancing is now only voluntary ("At ease. Hug if you wish.", to paraphrase the roll call sergeant) and virtually all businesses from yoga studios to barber shops have re-opened. Face masks are sometimes seen being worn on transit vehicles and indoor spaces, but the general message in Patria is that unless you are actually sick, caring for someone who is sick, or work in a hospital, there is no need to wear a mask.

Without formally announcing it, Patria is going for herd immunity and is clearly on the side of COVID-19 dissidents, who have been fighting almost from the get-go the authoritarian government over-reach, technological surveillance run amok and stamping out of civil liberties for the sake of the one percent (or less) of the population who are actually at risk of potentially fatal complications from COVID-19. Echoing the "I do not consent" speech delivered by the SRM last month, the National Union said on the floor of Congress that choosing not to buy into the fear-mongering is Patria's "sovereign right to choose". Following is the speech by the NU House Leader:

Madam Speaker, citizens of Patria do not and need not live in fear of COVID-19. As the national campaign says, “It’s only the flu” and we have a sovereign right to choose how we are to respond to the macro-national fear-mongers, the so-called experts and the other powers that be.

If you want to stay home, stay home. That's your sovereign right to choose.

If you want to wear a mask, wear a mask. That's your sovereign right to choose.

If you want to avoid large crowds, avoid large crowds. That's your sovereign right to choose.

I am not required to descend into poverty for YOU.

I am not required to abstain from human contact for YOU.

I refuse to participate in "quarantine life" until there's an unsafe, untested vaccine released in eighteen months, by which time we may be close to achieving herd immunity, making a vaccine virtually unnecessary.

I refuse to receive a vaccine to make others feel safer. That's my sovereign right to choose!

If you're convinced the vaccine is safe and effective, you can get it yourself.

Some of you are allowing fear and policies devoid of scientifically accurate data to destroy the country you live in and ruin your life.

Life is full of risks, whether the risk of being hit by a car while walking or the risk of exposure to bacteria and viruses, many of which spread before symptoms manifest and after they subside.

We have a sovereign right to receive OR refuse vaccines.

We have a sovereign right to trust our immune system to do its job and to strengthen it by actual exposure to germs and viruses.

The data was inaccurate at best; purposely overblown to justify government overreaction at worst.

Stop allowing the government to destroy the food supply, small businesses, medical autonomy, access to healthcare, mass gatherings, privacy rights, our mental health and our constitutionally guaranteed freedom.

When the "new normal" is filled with starvation, depression, suicide, child abuse, domestic violence, imprisonment, governmental spying, and pure DESPERATION, the "virus" is going to look preferable to the world you helped facilitate.

I'm going to turn this around on people from now on. Those that say I'm (or anyone that supports this) putting money over lives by wanting the country back open for business...

Hear this:

-YOU don't care about the people that will kill themselves out of hopelessness.

-YOU don't care about small businesses that will close their doors permanently.

-YOU don't care about the women and children that will be victims of domestic abuse.

-YOU don't care about people defaulting on their mortgages.

-YOU don't care about bills going unpaid by families with ZERO income right now.

-YOU don't care about people wondering where their next meal will come from.

-YOU don't care about the people that will lose their sobriety and slip back into alcoholism and drug abuse.

-YOU don't care about the people that will starve.

-YOU support the looting and rioting that has taken place, some of it motivated more by frustration stemming from the lockdown and mass unemployment than by police brutality or Black Lives Matter.

-YOU don't care about anyone that's murdered the longer this shut down goes on.

-YOU don't care about people's mental health.

-YOU don't care about the children that DO need teachers and educators to guide and educate them. Teach them online, you say. You particularly don’t care about the children from low-income families who can’t afford internet access or a home computer.

-YOU don't care about the economy crashing down around us.

-YOU DON'T CARE.

-YOU love your shackles.

-YOU are pathetic, begging your leaders for MORE shut down and MORE regulations and MORE handouts.

I will NOT tolerate another person telling me that I don't care about lives.

I care about the situation in its entirety.

But YOU don't care about any of that so...
YOU stay home.
YOU wear a mask.
YOU live in fear.

I on the other hand will not. As is my sovereign right to choose NOT TO!

Yes, you can hash-tag it! #sovereignrighttochoose

Patria does not consent. Dissident voices and Sheetala puja

Sheetala Mata ki jai!
While Patria has rejected the COVID19 economic lockdown and is aiming for herd immunity, temples across Patria are performing pujas to Sheetala - an incarnation of the Divine Mother Durga who cures smallpox and other infectious diseases - including, of course, COVID19. Sheetala (sometimes spelled Shitala, but remember the i is long; in Sanskrit: शीतला śītalā) rides on a donkey (coincidentally the symbol of the US Democratic party), and carries a silver broom, a fan, a small bowl, and a pot of water. She uses these items to rid a house of disease–she sweeps up the germs with her broom, uses the fan to collect them, and dumps them into the bowl. She then sprinkles water from the pot (which is water from the river Ganges) to purify the house. Sheetala’s name means “the cooling one”. With the change of seasons and coming of the hot period, amid the COVID19 pandemic, it is essential to emphasize the importance of hygiene for human health and the worship of Sheetala Mata provides the motivation to keep the surroundings clean and hygienic.

On the floor of Congress, the House Leader of the SRM, Patria's official opposition party, delivered an impassioned speech that places Patria firmly into the camp of COVID19 dissident voices who will not tow the mainstream media party line. The transcription follows:

Madam Speaker, in the world of COVID19, Patria stands as a dissident voice. Patria rejects the lockdown, Patria rejects the fear, and most important of all, citizens of Patria do not consent. Know well those four words: I DO NOT CONSENT (In Patrienish, three words: imí nolí consentí)

I do not consent to the tracking and tracing of citizens of Patria (or any macro-world citizens for that matter). And if we can track law-abiding citizens, then why haven't we made rapists, murderers, pedophiles and other dangerous criminals a priority?
I do not consent to a party or leader who makes decisions without the democratic process of a vote in Congress.
I do not consent to being told that I am not taking a virus seriously simply because I question and challenge arbitrary laws.
I do not consent to limiting free speech under the guise of protecting Patria from the spread of misinformation. No government has a monopoly on information. China does, though. As did the Third Reich and Soviet Union.
I do not consent to the extreme censorship that is taking place on social media platforms towards doctors, scientists, political scientists, activists and dissident voices who uphold data about a possible differing outcome than the mainstream media would have us believe. This is the 21st century version of book burning.
I do not consent to an increased risk of heart disease, obesity or type 2 diabetes from lack of physical activity because YMCAs, gyms and other fitness facilities are closed indefinitely.
I do not consent to banning entry into temples, churches, synagogues, mosques and other places of worship. Freedom of religion is a fundamental human right, enshrined in the Constitution of Patria and in the basic laws or constitutions of virtually every First World democracy.
I do not consent to closing down nature trails, nature parks, and other outdoor spaces when liquor stores, cannabis stores and RupeeRama stores [a chain of stores in Patria, like Dollarama and other dollar stores in Canada] remain open, along with other businesses deemed “essential”. There is absolutely nothing more essential on this Earth than Earth itself.
I do not consent to the closing of small businesses while multi-million dollar companies remain open. Michigan, as an example, stated that for every one COVID19 death, 2,750 people will lose their livelihood. This will (and has) undoubtedly contributed to rising rates of suicide, depression, drug and alcohol dependency, domestic violence and abuse.
I do not consent to being prevented from freely travelling within Patria while the politicians who impose these laws break them and visit their cottages, country estates and summer homes.
I do not consent to my tax dollars being used for bailouts of major corporations while small business owners – many of which are heart-centered businesses or have been family-owned for generations – fall into poverty.
I do not consent to being told all these decisions are for my safety while thousands of dangerous criminals have been released from prisons, allegedly for their own “protection”.
I do not consent to violating Patria's human rights legislation and court precedents dating back to 1818 which state that my body is sovereign and no medical procedure can be mandated. Or even violating the US Constitution, which did not tack “except in case of a virus” to the first ten amendments. As those who fought for abortion rights in the 1970s would say, “my body, my choice”.
I do not consent to mandatory vaccination. How do you think this will end? Not well.
I do not consent to the label "anti-vaxxer" simply because I have concerns about mandatory vaccines or medical procedures - especially high risk vaccines with limited testing that are deemed highly profitable to the most questionable of interests.
I do not consent to being labelled a conspiracy theorist simply because I question certain government, corporate and industrial motives.
I do not consent to the idea that pharmaceutical companies are the only way we can prevent or heal from illness.
I do not consent to the complete failure to discuss what promotes real health and immunity: vegetables, grass-fed meat (for those who are not vegetarian or vegan), organic, non-GMO produce, low glycemic food (since metabolic dysfunction puts you at a significantly greater risk), botanicals, sleep, exercise, sunshine (or at least a vitamin D supplement), fresh air and human connection such as giving and receiving hugs.
I do not consent to the news media only talking about the death count when the survival rate is much higher. Fear cripples the immune system. Why aren't they talking about both?
I do not consent to the censorship of health practitioners simply for talking about increasing immunity through nutrients, herbs and botanicals which have been used for thousands of years.
I do not consent to mad scientists (that includes you, Mr. Gates) and corporations who ignore the divine intelligence of our body, our immune system and our Earth.
I do not consent to the lack of discussion on how the exploitation and rape of the Earth, our divine feminine, has increased illness globally – everything from heart disease to depression, autoimmunity, cancer and autism, for decades.
I do not consent, Patria.
Do you?
I consent to being called a critical thinker, a person who cares about tomorrow, an environmentalist who understands the connection between the state of our planet's health and our own.
